Historic Immigration Delays

Due to the Trump Administration’s immigration policies, USCIS is experiencing historic delays in processing applications. Millions of families and employers are impacted by these delays. The Trump Administration set forth policies aimed at deterring and delaying applications.

For example, it enacted policies requiring repeated biometrics “fingerprinting” of children and spouses legally in the U.S., in-person interviews for previously exempt applicants, and imposing secondary adjudication processes on dozens of applications.

Such policies have caused historic processing delays. Even USCIS has shared that its processing times are extremely long and growing. As a result, some employers have had to terminate valued employees and spouses of U.S. citizens have to wait years to receive their green cards. Lawsuits have even been filed against USCIS for the delays.
