Why U.S. Companies Are Hiring H-1bs

Many U.S. companies state that they sponsor employees for H-1B visas because of the lack of local computer science and engineering talent. Schools in the U.S. are, in fact, failing to produce a significant number of computer science graduates. “Comp Sci” was one of the most popular college majors during the dot-com boom of the late 1990s, but now the number of students enrolled in computer science programs is at its lowest in a decade. To put it simply, despite the resurgence of Web millionaires and the demand for IT professionals, U.S. college students are just not interested in studying computing.
